What is a Video Birth Announcement?
A Video Birth Announcment is your photos and video of your sweet little baby set to music with cute graphics. We put it on a webpage for you to send to friends and family with the click of a button. Eco-friendly and hip with no postage required.
What exactly do I get?
Can't I just do this myself?
Well, you could...it depends. How much time do you have? Do you have all the neccessary equipment and software and learned how to use them so it is easy and fun. Do you know how to organize and choose photos to make the most of out that perfect song that you found. How is your eye for graphic design? Other services out there range from free to hundreds of dollars. We think we have created the best product for a great price and you don't have to do any of the work. If you've got all these skills then you should definatly give it a go and then call us - we could put you to work :-)
But if that sounds like a lot of work to you then give us a call and we'll do it for you!
What's the deal with copyrights for music?
Basically you're not supposed to use an artist's music unless you've paid them to do so. For our purposes we have retained the rights and permisions to use the three songs for our Birth Announcements. You and I can use these songs on all media and are protected from copyright infringement issues associated with using musical recordings without the express consent of recording labels, artists, and publishers. This is out first step in this important direction. Soon all of our eCards & Shorts will also be royalty free. Slideshow and Video Stories remain unaffected because you as the consumer are allowed to use a song you have purchased to make a movie and show to your friends.

Every production gets our custom and individualized attention. Your movie is special. We don't just churn all your photos through an editing program, we touch every single one of them. Are you photographers? Can you take our photos?
Well, no. We can take some still photos for you during your video portraiture session, but we are not professional photographers. Our focus is on videography and editing. We know many great professional photographers if you would like any recommendations.
What kind of equipment do you use?
Cool Dog Productions uses all professional equipment. Three chip and/or HD cameras and pro audio. We have camera mounted microphones and small wireless mics as well. We use non linear digital editing software Final Cut Pro with the Apple Editing Studio.
How long will it take to get my video?
Depending on your project - anywhere from 1 - 10 weeks.
What is a bizcard DVD?
At Cool Dog you can get your movie on tarditional DVDs, mini DVD's and bizcard DVDs. A bizcard DVD is the size and shape of a business card. It's a DVD just smaller. It holds approximately 350MB of data. We can put a DVD menu on there with about 5 minutes of video and photos. Our mini DVD's only work in tray loading DVD players.
How do I get my pictures/film to you?
We have an upload page that sends your pictures and short video clips directly to Cool Dog over the internet. Otherwise, please send photos to us on a CD. If we have a consultation meeting you can hand them to us then along with any other non digital media. We only accept video on mini DV, DVD or VHS. If you choose to send your printed photos to us to scan please be aware that CDP is not responsible for any lost property. Ensure the safety of your belongings by sending them registered mail or by using fedex/ups/dhl etc. Postage is your responsibility.
